Some great links, thank you. Ecosophia is always worth checking out. Kunstler has been in top form lately: https://kunstler.com/writings/clusterfuck-nation/

Is Kunstler serious, or writing that apocalyptic stuff just for entertainment?

He's serious about collapse, but his blog is a LOT more ranty and 'imminent apocalypse' than his books, which are about continual sub-apocalyptic crisis: 'the long emergency'. I'm not sure to what extent that's the difference in format and to what extent his views have changed in the last couple of years.

That said, lines like 'that “singularity” so many blab about is not what they think it is: the merging of human intelligence with Bill Gates’s Office products, leading to an orgasmic nirvana of infinite memoranda from your HR department concerning new diversity, inclusion, and equity policy' do make me smile

I’ve subscribed to him anyway but your context helps. The feeling I have about our current technocultural travails is that they are not just ‘sub-apocalyptic’ (love that phrase!) but deeply, wearisomely *banal*.
